"It seems to me the book has not just aesthetic values-- the charming little clothy box of the thing, the smell of the glue, even the print, which has its own beauty. But there's something about the sensation of ink on paper that is in some sense a thing, a phenomenon rather than an epiphenomenon. I can't break the association of electric trash with the computer screen. Words on the screen give the sense of being just another passing electronic wriggle."

—John Hoyer Updike (b. 1932) American writer, Rabbit, Run, Rabbit at Rest

Paws to Read

Registration for our annual Summer Reading Club begins on Monday, June 2.  Each participant will pick up a bag containing all the information for his/her age group.  (Click the underlined text above to link to complete information about this event.)

Even if you don't have a child/grandchild who is the right age, you can still help us make Paws to Read a "Wagging Good Time with Paw Pals!"  Donate a new (tags still on) stuffed animal in honor or memory of a loved one.  These animals will be given away at the end of Summer Reading Club at the prize party on August 1.  Donations will be recognized with a pet tag, on a pet carrier (made by staff), and on a plaque board.

Call 498-9514 for more information.
