The Jersey County Business Association is once again pleased to offer small business counseling in 2019. This free counseling session for entrepreneurs in business or planning to open a business is a valuable small business resource.

On Tuesday, January 22, local business owners and entrepreneurs throughout the region are invited to meet the SIUE Small Business Development Center team and participate in one-on-one counseling sessions from 10 am-12 pm at Jerseyville Public Library at 105 N Liberty St, Jerseyville, IL 62052.  Parking is available in the lot next to the library building.

Jerseyville native and SBDC specialist, Marti Guntren will be available to talk confidentially with business owners and entrepreneurs on a range of topics including, but not limited to

  • Business plan formation
  • Business financing
  • Marketing assistance
  • Social media strategy
  • Expansion opportunities
  • Buy and selling a business
  • State/federal regulations
  • Exporting and international trade

The SBDC Day runs from 10 am to 2 pm with a one-hour Quickbooks training workshop, presented at 12 p.m. (noon). The workshop costs only $10 for comprehensive overview of the software and how it can help your business and serve many functions of a traditional bookkeeper with less cost and more control.

This event not only acts as a service to the Jerseyville small business community but also offers an effective way for the staff of the Illinois Small Business Development Center to connect and introduce small businesses throughout the Metro East. The Illinois Small Business Development Center is a great resource for networking as well as business counseling and referrals. We strive to connect small businesses within the Metro East community in order to create a symbiotic business environment for all business owners in the nine county region we serve.

Attendees wanting to meet privately for their no-cost counseling session with Ms. Guntren are encouraged to request an appointment by calling the SBDC directly at (618)650-2929. The office is open weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. You can also register for the Quickbooks training workshop at https://conta.cc/2QmJAkg.
