Supporting Your Library

How to get involved!

Volunteering

In order to be a library volunteer, you have to be at least in the 6th grade.  Currently, we have several wonderful volunteers who are a great help to our staff!  We also have students who volunteer once or twice a week.

Sometimes we have students who need community service hours for National Honor Society or some other school-related reason; they come in and help out by bundling magazines, shelving materials, and other tasks.

Donating

Donations big and small are always welcome. You may send a check directly to the Jerseyville Public Library or you may donate online via E-Pay Much work has been done toward our expansion project and ground-breaking is tentatively scheduled for early Summer of 2021. There are several categories in which you may partner with us as shown below. (Click on the picture to see the categories and read the tax deduction information.) Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Library are another group of volunteers who help the Library by assisting with our on-going as well as bi-annual book sales.  Some volunteers staff the book sale itself and work as cashiers during the sale while others sort the donations into categories and box them until the sale date or help set-up the room for the sales.  The Friends can always use volunteers before major book sales too!
