Programs & Activities scheduled for December 2019

Food for Fines

During the entire month of December, overdue fines will be forgiven in exchange for a canned good, nonperishable food item, or hygiene product; one donation for each overdue item, please.  Everything collected will be given to the local Salvation Army Food Pantry.  Overdue materials must be returned at the circulation desk.  If you cannot find the lost item, you CANNOT pay for it with donated items.  For existing fines, $1 will be waived for each item donated.

Saturday, December 7 from 10 AM - Noon:  Grinch Christmas Party

Make an ornament and play some Grinchy games.

Saturday, December 14 from 10 AM - Noon:  Holly Jolly Bubble Bus Sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Jerseyville

Preschoolers as well as children in grades K - 5 are invited to attend.  The Bubble Bus will be outside the library for an hour, but after it leaves, you can come inside to enjoy some hot chocolate!

Snowman Christmas Countdown Calendar.

$2.00/supply fee; Limit 30 people; Registration Required

Annual Cookie Exchange: Tuesday, December 10th @
7:00 PM.

Exchange:  Bring 3-dozen of your best cookies/candy along with a copy of the recipe and an empty container for exchanging.  Sample one of each and vote for your favorite; the entry with the most votes will win a prize!

Entertainment:  The Ukulele Group playing and singing Christmas songs.

Ukulele Jam Session:  6:30 PM  All you Ukulele players out there - come early at 6:30 to jam with us to some of your favorite Christmas songs - we'll join the Cookie Exchange to provide entertainment with the songs we like best!
