Trolleys to River City The Piasa Route by Lawrence N. Thomas

Local Jerseyville resident, Larry Thomas, will present about his recently published volume on the Alton, Jacksonville & Peoria Electric Railway on Thursday, August 14, at 6pm.  The electric railroad between Alton and Jerseyville was the idea of Jerseyville investors and businessmen anxious to stimulate traffic to Jerseyville in the period before paved roads and World War I.  Mr. Thomas will be signing his new books, which, along with 1912 maps of Jerseyville, will be available for purchase.
