LIBRARY ANNOUNCES EXPANSION GRANT AWARD

Jerseyville Public Library Director, Anita Driver, announced on Tuesday, August 18, 2020, that after 7 years of applying annually, funds are finally available, and JPL has been approved for a construction grant. This 3.7 million dollar project will result in a public library we will all be proud to call Jerseyville's Public Library! The square footage of the building will more than double and will include a meeting room to hold 150 people, 6 study/tutoring rooms, a computer lab, a children's discovery room, a teen gaming room and so much more.  An expansion fund was launched in 2013 and many have already generously donated. The Friends of the Jerseyville Public Library group presented a check for $25,000 - the Friends are the first in the Master Builder donation category. Our expansion fund currently totals 98,974.26. You may view plans for the expansion on the home page of our website or stop by the Library. You may also pick up a donation brochure if you would like to be a part of this wonderful addition that will serve our community for years to come.
