LIBRARY ANNOUNCES EXPANSION GRANT AWARD

Jerseyville Public Library Director, Anita Driver, announced on Tuesday, August 18, 2020, that after 7 years of applying annually, funds are finally available, and JPL has been approved for a construction grant. This 3.7 million dollar project will result in a public library we will all be proud to call Jerseyville's Public Library! The square footage of the building will more than double and will include a meeting room to hold 150 people, 6 study/tutoring rooms, a computer lab, a children's discovery room, a teen gaming room and so much more. An expansion fund was launched in 2013 and many have already generously donated. The Friends of the Jerseyville Public Library group presented a check for $25,000 - the Friends are the first in the Master Builder donation category. You may view plans for the expansion on the home page of our website or stop by the Library.
