Phase 3 Guidelines for Reopening June 2020

HOURS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

Monday – Tuesday                   9:00 am – 7:00 pm

Wednesday – Thursday            9:00 am – 5:00 pm

Friday & Saturday                    9:00 am – 3:00 pm

Closed Sunday

REQUIREMENTS AND LIMITS

  • Enter through the meeting room door; exit through main doors.
  • Masks must be worn by patrons age 2 & up.
  • Patrons who are not able or willing to wear a mask may use curbside service.
  • Social distancing is required where possible.
  • Collection area capacities:

FIRST FLOOR:

  • 1st floor meeting room = 1 staff and 1 public use computer (computer 1)
  • Main circulation desk = 1 patron checking out, 1 patron for services/fax/copy and 2 staff
  • Checkout line = 4 patrons (6 foot spacing is marked)
  • Large print room = 1 patron
  • DVD room = 1 patron
  • Juvenile computer = 1 patron
  • Juvenile DVD = 1 patron
  • Juvenile stacks = 6
  • OPAC search = 1
  • Book sale room A = 1 patron
  • Book sale room B = 1 patron
  • Computer room 2 = 1 patron
  • Teen room = 1 patron

SECOND FLOOR:

  • Adult fiction = 4 patrons
  • Magazine/Audiobook area = 2 patrons
  • Music CDs = 1 patron
  • Computer 3 in dome room = 1 patron
  • Genealogy/Oversize/Reference room = 1 patron
  • Adult non-fiction stacks = 4 patrons
  • Adult non-fiction table, computer 4 = 1 patron

This is a total of 39 assigned occupants, allowing 11 for floating staff in offices or family units.

  • All patrons are limited to 30 minutes in the building with the exception of those patrons at computers for job search, unemployment, or school work.
  • After your 30 minutes is up, leave the building through the main entrance.
  • If the area you plan on using at the Library is occupied, you may wait your turn in your vehicle or socially distanced on the property OR you may make an appointment to return.
  • All material returns must be placed in the outside book drop or in tubs at the entrance.
  • The 1st floor meeting room will be available after 7:00 pm Monday-Thursday with a limit of 10 people.

 FOR YOUR PROTECTION:

  • Hand sanitizer will be available at the entrance and exit of the building.
  • All 4 restrooms have antibacterial soap and water.
  • If you do not intend to browse and you are only picking up on hold materials, we ask that you use curbside service. Call 618-498-9514 when you are in the parking lot.  Pop your trunk or roll down your back passenger side window.  If those are not possible, roll down the passenger side front window.  For walkers and bike riders, pick up your materials from the staff member at the entrance door.
  • Stay behind the plastic shields when checking out and when retrieving copies.
  • The entrance and exit doors will be open to eliminate touching door handles.
  • Summer reading club materials for all ages will be picked up curbside.
  • Friends of the Library book sale donations are not being accepted at this time.
  • Library staff will wash their hands frequently.
  • All toys, Legos and craft supplies have been stored. Color sheets are available to take home.
  • To help us all with social distancing, tables and chairs have been stored and computers have been covered.
